The evening

One raga, unhurried,
in a hall that listens.

Swaraparva is an evening set aside for Hindustani classical vocal in its full form — an alaap that takes its own time, a bandish that opens slowly, and a tabla that answers rather than hurries. No screens, no interval scramble. Just a stage, a tanpura drone, and an audience that came to listen.

Entry is by complimentary pass. Seating is limited to the capacity of the hall, so passes are confirmed in the order registrations come in.

The artist

A voice from the
Mewati gharana.

Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar trained first with his mother, Smt. Shobha Abhyankar, and went on to become one of the closest disciples of Sangeet Martand Pt. Jasraj. His singing is known for its clarity of swara, its patience in the slow movements, and a devotional warmth that carries a full hall without ever being loud.

  • Mewati gharana, in the lineage of Pt. Jasraj
  • National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer
  • Four decades of concert stages in India and abroad
  • Khayal, bhajan, abhang and natyasangeet

Questions we get most

Are the passes really free?

Yes. Swaraparva is a complimentary concert hosted by Rohive Foundation. There is no charge at any stage and nothing is sold at the venue. If anyone asks you to pay for a pass, it is not from us.

Why only two passes per registration?

The hall has a fixed capacity and we would rather it reach as many households as possible. Two passes are held against each mobile number, so once a number has taken its two it cannot register again — please use a separate number for other guests. If you need a larger block for a family or an office group, open the chat at the bottom right and the desk will arrange it.

What is the Privilege ID?

It is your registration reference, generated the moment you submit the form and emailed to you straight away. Showing it at the registration desk is all that is needed — no printout, no ticket counter.

Is the seat number fixed?

Seating is by block, not by seat number, and it fills front to back in the order registrations come in. Arriving by 5.40 PM gets you a comfortable choice within your block.

Can I bring children?

Children above six are welcome and need a pass of their own. A classical concert asks for quiet, so please count a young child into your two.

What if I cannot make it after registering?

Tell the desk in the chat with your Privilege ID. It releases your seats for someone on the waiting list, which fills quickly.

Can I record the concert?

Photographs without flash are fine before the concert begins. Audio and video recording during the performance is not permitted, out of respect for the artist and the people around you.
